The Modell’s Team Store located in the Verizon Center (formerly MCI Center) was a different type of Modell’s sporting goods store. The two entrances had a different theme to complement the hockey team and the basketball team for the city of Washington DC. An oversized hockey puck and hockey stick framed the entrance at the F Street side of Verizon Center. A giant basketball rim entrance was located at the interior main corridor surrounding the stadium. Resilient flooring was custom made to simulate an ice rink and wood court floor to re-enforce the theme of the two sports. (Role: Completed as Project Architect while at The Tricarico Group)
